Hear ye! Hear ye! Embark on an adventure where your choices truly matter.

Your home has fallen. The ruthless mercenary Blaine and his faction, the Crux, have seized the city, leaving you and a battered group of survivors hiding in the forest. With your strongest knights gone and morale fading, the remaining civilians are looking to you for leadership.

The time for hiding is over, but how this story ends is entirely up to you.

Will you rally your friends—like the fierce Akormur'ss and the steadfast Bjorn—in a desperate, heroic siege to take back your home? Will you decide the fight is already lost and try to flee to a neighboring kingdom? Or will the allure of power and survival tempt you to betray your makeshift family and join Blaine's ranks?

Every decision you make, and every conversation you have, builds toward one of three distinct, game-altering endings.

Developer's Note: The Mechanics of Meaningful Choice

Gestalt was developed as a final project for a Game Analysis course, serving as an interactive exploration of "meaningful choice" in video game narratives. Our primary goal was to subvert the illusion of choice often found in RPGs, where hours of gameplay are undone by a single, arbitrary dialogue prompt at the very end.

Instead, this project utilizes an invisible tracking system. Every ideological stance you take, every civilian you prioritize, and every conversation you navigate silently accumulates behind the scenes. By the time the final confrontation arrives, the sum of your actions has already tipped the scales. The ending you receive is not just a final button press, but the inescapable culmination of how you chose to play.
